Searching for
New Solutions: the Role of the UN, Civil Society and Denmark

A resolution to the conflict between Israel-Palestine seems, yet again, very remote. 2015 saw an upsurge in violence on both sides, limiting the possibilities for a positive transformation of the conflict. In a seemingly frozen conflict, searching for new ways for the parties to engage with each other is crucial for the prospects of the peace process.

The conference is divided into three themes, each investigating how specific actors can play a part in transforming the conflict, and thus bring a solution nearer. Emphasis will be put on UN, civil society organisations and the role of the Danish government.

The conference brings together researchers, politicians, civil society organisations, journalists and experts for an in-depth discussion of the conflict – including Holger K. Nielsen, Laila Naraghi, Jonatan Møller Sousa, Peter Viggo Jakobsen, Jakob Erle, Leila Stockmarr and Poya Pakzad.

Conference language is English. Coffee/tea and a sandwich will be served during the conference. Participation fee is DKK 45,-

Registration (mandatory) no later than noon January 25.
